Batch Record Review
Batch Yield Reconciliation Calculator
Track input/output quantities across each manufacturing stage to calculate stage yields, cumulative yield, and flag results outside your approved reconciliation range.
Why Yield Reconciliation Matters
Yield reconciliation compares the actual quantity of material obtained at each stage (and overall) against the theoretical quantity expected, based on the input material and formula. It's a GMP requirement (21 CFR 211.182, 211.188) used to detect material loss, mislabeling, or process deviations that might otherwise go unnoticed.
Typical Practice
| Consideration | Practice |
|---|---|
| Reconciliation range | Defined per product/process in the Master Batch Record — commonly a range such as 95–105%, but always product-specific |
| Out-of-range yield | Requires investigation before batch disposition, regardless of whether yield is high or low |
| Stage-by-stage tracking | Helps pinpoint exactly where unexpected loss or gain occurred, rather than only reconciling at the end |

This tool illustrates the reconciliation calculation for educational and preliminary review purposes. Final batch disposition must follow your approved Master Batch Record reconciliation limits and deviation/investigation procedures — never rely on this calculator alone for release decisions.
